Sublime by Riley Blake …all 26 bolts.

Today is the last day to enter our giveaway.  Leave a comment with suggestions for this Blog by the end of the day for your chance to win 8 fat quarters.  Make sure to scroll down and enter if you haven’t already.

Yea! The patterns are in and hot off the press!  The Disappearing Four Patch Quilt.

Last night the pattern was tested in our class and class members said:  “fun” “easy” “ingenious”  The directions are clear with multiple sizes and cutting options available.  You can use a layer cake, or Debi has provided directions using yardage or even charm packs for a smaller scale version.  Here are pictures of finished quilts:

The pattern can be your very own.  We don’t yet have a website ( can’t decide if it is a UFO or a WIP) but you can get a copy whereever you are.  Call the shop and place an order over the phone.  We will mail a copy or e-mail a PDF as you choose.  Cost?  A very reasonable $8.

This is how we handle fabric orders at this time and your information is respected and protected.

Call 801 621-2202, or e-mail us and we’ll get back to you.  Get your copy today!

You can be thrifty, organized and fashionable with these Coupon Keepers.

This one by Rae has a pre-made foundation

Leigh Ann has this embellished beauty that starts out as a sheet of notebook paper–that’s my kind of pattern.

I also liked this patchwork clutch by Julie for Moda Bake Shop

And, one fabric coupon holder by June

These projects don’t require a lot of fabric, but in case you don’t have just the right thing on hand, or are shopping for another project, here’s one for you:

Have you seen Marlene’s new quilt up in the shop?  Wow!  It is a beauty!

The picture does not do the quilt justice, but you can see enough to know that Marlene doesn’t just run a very nice shop, but the woman can quilt, too.

The pattern comes from the book French Braid Obsession, available in the shop.

Brand new fabric in the shop, and it is beautiful and waiting for you.
Riley Blake has a new collection called Ivy Trellis,

Here is happy customer Debbie Stevens holding up her table runner she made from the 12 cupcakes from the block of the Month last year.

She did a beautiful job finishing the blocks.  This will give any table a cheerful air.

Who would have guessed back in September that we would ever get to 100 posts, and that people would be willing to read them at all?

But, here we are, so to celebrate in a traditional way (Can anything be called “traditional” in something as new as Blogging?) we are having a giveaway:

8 Fat Quarters.  Yes, two yards of beautiful blues.

To enter, please leave a comment giving us some advice:  what you like about the blog or what you would like to see more of.  We want you to have a reason to come back!

We will draw the winner in a week, that is February 8.  The winner will be made public by post on Tuesday, February 9. Thanks for stopping by and Good luck!

NOTE:  please make sure we have a way to contact you (e-mail) when you win.  Thanks.

The holiday pictures are developed and ready to be displayed.  Now, all you need is a really great frame.

Here are some suggestions on how to make one yourself–it usually requires a trip to the local second hand or dollar store, but,  I will promise you that noone will guess the frame cost a dollar when you are done with it.

A quick fridge frame from How About Orange

And Rachel from p.s. i quilt came up with this kid friendly frame idea for Moda Bake Shop.

Jannette doesn’t have pictures at her tutorial, but it is full of good ideas and very clear written instructions.  Give it a look.

Fabric for the new year is arriving in boxes and boxes of beauty.

Some of it is already unloaded, like  ”Creekside” flannel by Moda

and “Timber” by Windham fabrics

But, there are more boxes arriving daily waiting to be unpacked.

Come by and see all the new stuff on the shelves, or call and see if we have what you want.  We will also post many new collections as they arrive for your viewing pleasure.

Special note:  We have a growing selection of Batiks.  Here is some, ready cut into fat quarters, perfect for small projects on as an accent in a larger piece.

Now, while we debate on what we should do with all of OUR fabric, here are a few suggestions of what you can do with all of YOUR fabric:

1) Fold it larger and put it evenly under the mattress – you can get a hundred yards under there!

(There’s no chance hubby will find it – how often does he make the bed? )

2) You can also fold some and put it under each chair and sofa cushion .

3) Hang a yard on a coat hanger, then cover it with a piece of clothing –100 coat  hangers/100yds of fabric! 3 closets + 300 yards!

4) Get a large trash can, remove the cover and have someone cut a round piece of plywood out for you. Put stash in trash can, put on wooden cover, place a pretty, 70″ round tablecloth (or sew two 2 yard pieces together lengthwise and “pretend” its a tablecloth) With a beautiful lamp on top, who’s to know it’s full of fabric? (A good way to hide the ironing, too!)

5) If you have a space under the bed, buy some of the flatter Rubbermaid tubs and fill them.

When you’ve bought more fabric than you can store in these five ways, you just aren’t sewing enough!!!

(Can’t take credit for these ideas–just a little something found floating around on the internet–hope it made you SMILE!)
